The Kurrawa Surf Life Saving movement was founded firstly to supply services that minimise danger and prevent loss of life or injury on the beach and aquatic environment. Secondly, to educate the community in beach and aquatic safety, and promote skills and knowledge in beach and surf recreation. Thirdly, to be recognised in the community as the authority and provider in matters related to beach and aquatic safety and its management.
As a result, The Surf Club Kurrawa Supporters Club was first established to help obtain much needed funds for the Surf Club to assist in saving lives on Kurrawa Beach. Who would have thought that the small Club that commenced trading on the 23rd May 1996, with one chef, one barman and 6 poker machines would turn into the extraordinary Club that it is today. In 2011, after extensive renovations, the Club now boasts employing over 65 dedicated staff, and more than 23,000 visitors every month.
